A royal night in the spirit of Queen Sophie Amalie - Join for a masquerade ball

Not many people know that another palace once stood where Amalienborg stands today. It was called Sophie Amalienborg, built by Queen Sophie Amalie, who hosted lavish parties and grand masquerade balls there. Inspired by these historic festivities, the museum invites children and adults to step inside on this special evening and experience a royal night in the spirit of Queen Sophie Amalie. In the Garden Hall, you can create your own masks to bring along to the masquerade. In the Grand Hall, children can try on royal costumes from the Royal Sewing Room at Koldinghus and dance beneath the glow of the chandeliers.
